We received the number 4 from MIlton Glaser today for our birthday poster. It’s not what we expected from him, but it IS very very good, and we can’t wait to create the posters.

MILTON GLASER has agreed to design a number four for our 4th Birthday Poster.

We are really excited at Truth because the legend that is Milton Glaser has agreed to design the number 4 that will appear on our 4th Birthday Poster. Milton is one of my design heros and it is a great pleasure for me that he has kindly agreed to do this for us. We await eagerly to see what he comes back with.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Milton Glaser (born June 26, 1929 in New York City) is a graphic designer, best known for the I Love New York logo, his "Bob Dylan" poster, the "DC bullet" logo used by DC Comics from 1977 to 2005, and the "Brooklyn Brewery" logo. He also founded New York Magazine with Clay Felker in 1968.

 
 

 

Biography

Glaser was educated at New York City's High School of Music & Art (now Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts), graduated from the Cooper Union in 1951 and later, via a Fulbright Scholarship, the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna under Giorgio Morandi. Glaser is Jewish and nonobservant.

In 1954 Glaser was a founder, and president, of Push Pin Studios formed with several of his Cooper Union classmates. Glaser's work is characterized by directness, simplicity and originality. He uses any medium or style to solve the problem at hand. His style ranges wildly from primitive to avant garde in his countless book jackets, album covers, advertisements and direct mail pieces and magazine illustrations.He started his own studio, Milton Glaser, Inc, in 1974. This led to his involvement with an increasingly wide diversity of projects, ranging from the design of New York Magazine, of which he was a co-founder, to a 600 foot mural for the Federal Office Building in Indianapolis.

Throughout his career he has had a major impact on contemporary illustration and design. His work has won numerous awards from Art Directors Clubs, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the Society of Illustrators and the Type Directors Club. In 1979 he was made Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and his work is included in the Museum of Modern Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Israel Museum and the Musee de l'affiche in Paris. Glaser has taught at both the School of Visual Arts and at Cooper Union in New York City. He is a member of Alliance Graphique International (AGI).

In 2009, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama.

 
 

Khan Wins Again!

 

Truth client Amir Khan marked his US debut with a dominating 11th-round stoppage of Paulie Malignaggi. His Truth designed AK logo looked great plastered everywhere at Madison Square Garden.

Truth Launches iPhone App for Durex.

  

Here at Truth we're very excited to announce the launch of our client iPhone app on iTunes for Durex! Durex briefed us to design and develop a game to be sold via iTunes – supporting their wider online visibility strategy.

The game, called Spice Dice is the perfect way to spice up your sex life!! The user can shake the dice for positions, and then get extra tips to boost their pleasure. It features suggestions on everything from romantic gestures to sexual positions, including full instructions and illustrations (and dice sound effects too!).

The game is free and available to download on iTunes

This is the first iPhone game we've ever designed and produced - and are very proud to say that it looks great! For more details on the Spice Dice brief or for a quick catch up - just give us a call or pop in for a chat.

Christmas Wrapping Paper

      

This year our Christmas card isn't a Christmas card… we've been busy for the last few weeks creating our very own wrapping paper, based all around being honest at Christmas.

Buro Happold TEN Brochure

We recently designed and produced this distinctive mailer with the dual purpose of celebrating the 10-year anniversary, whilst providing a new business tool for direct activity. We created a 120mm square brochure held in a slipcase using a distinctive thick grey board material as an architectural and structural reference to concrete. Designed using already existing photography, we added brand personality through the use of actual sketches and bold statements.
